with Rabbi Jacob Siegel from Dayenu, UCSC Professor Emeritus Andrew Szasz and UCSC Professor Galina Hale
Presented by the Dayenu Circle of Temple Beth El, Chadeish Yameinu and the Santa Cruz Zen Center and the TBE Lifelong Learning Committee.
This is the second presentation in our series on sustainable investing. Our first program gave an overview of sustainable investing: how it came about, its advantages over traditional investing, and how it reflects our Jewish values. This talk will focus specifically on the fossil fuel divestment movement.
Our keynote speaker will be Rabbi Jacob Siegel, climate finance advisor for Dayenu: a Jewish call to climate action. Rabbi Siegel works directly with Jewish communities to bring Jewish leadership into the area of global impact investing and helps guide Jewish institutions at every stage of the impact investing process. UCSC Professor Emeritus Andrew Szasz will speak about the institutional divestment movement, and UCSC Professor Galina Hale will address how effectively divestment works. A Q&A will follow the talk
