כֵּיף (KEF) means fun in Hebrew, and also stands for Kid's Education Fun! It is a menu of options tailored to your needs. Registered 4th through 6th graders can sign up for multiple options, or choose what works for them and their families. The options are:
- Wednesday Hebrew School at TBE
- Monday Hebrew School outdoors on the Westside
- Online individual instruction
Please read the following descriptions to learn more! Once you have registered for Temple School, you will receive an email to indicate which programs you'd like to participate in. If you have any questions, please contact Roxy Tracy at rtracy@tbeaptos.org.
KEF:
Wednesdays at TBE 4:00-5:30pm - this is our main Hebrew School day. All students that are able to should come to TBE on Wednesdays.
Mondays outdoors on the Westside 4:00-5:15pm (location TBD based on enrollment) - this is our alternate day for students who are not able to come to TBE on Wednesdays.
Although students learn the Alef-Bet and start learning to read Hebrew on Sundays at Temple School, preparations for a student's Beit Mitzvah really begin during KEF midweek programs! In groups of their peers, students will become comfortable reading Hebrew so that they can fully participate in services and be ready when they receive their Torah portion. Our main KEF program is held on Wednesdays at TBE, with an additional class on Mondays outdoors on the Westside for the convenience of families that are unable to make it on Wednesdays. The exact location of the Westside class will be decided based on enrollment.

Online Individual Instruction:
All learners can benefit from additional one on one self-paced Hebrew learning! We encourage everyone to register for this program with Morah Ilana Goldstein. She will help your learner work through basic biblical Hebrew and some modern Hebrew words to prepare them for their Beit Mitzvah. Your child will have a 15 minute meeting with her every week over Zoom with follow up homework assignments. Students who are registered for 4th-6th grade are entitled to 20 sessions.
