About Us

     Simcha is a year-round early childhood program run by Temple Beth El, in Aptos, California. For the 2025/2026 school year, we will be operating from 7:30 a.m. until 5:20 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    For 40 years, Simcha has maintained the same commitment to providing a loving, nurturing and respectful experience for our children. We offer a high-quality early learning experience for children 18 months to entry to first grade, which inclues a low-ratio TK/Kindergarten classroom.

     Simcha is committed to sharing the living legacy of Jewish values and traditions with young children, in addition to integrating an anti-bias and anti-racism curriculum into our program.

     You don't have to be Jewish to attend Simcha Preschool. Our community celebrates diversity and welcomes families of all backgrounds.

Program

     We adhere to a “Gold Standard” for safety including requirements that all TBE and Simcha staff are 100% vaccinated. We follow NAEYC standards for low child to teacher ratios and have small classroom sizes.

     Most of our activities are outside in our beautiful outdoor environments, play yards, redwood grove and other natural nooks and crannies around campus.

     Our program serves children in the Toddler (18 months - 3 years), Preschool (2.5 - 4 year old), Pre-K (3.5 years old - 5 years old), and TK/Kindergarten (4 - 6yr old) Classrooms.
