Temple Beth El has been blessed with the amazing contributions of our dedicated volunteers who have been instrumental in making our community what it is today. Their selflessness, commitment, and passion have inspired us all and played a vital role in our success. We are now seeking new volunteers who can keep this spirit of service and support alive and bring their own unique talents to our community. Here is a list of the areas where we have the greatest need for volunteers:
- Photography: Have an eye for good snapshots? TBE is always looking for individuals willing to come to an event not only as an attendee but also as our photographer
- Building & Grounds Committee: This committee provides leadership and advice for all the major facility projects. Members help with managing projects or getting quotes. We are especially in need of individuals with experience in real estate, interior design or the building and construction trades.
- Communications: Writing promotions and designing flyers is in constant demand.
- Social Media: Help us monitor our social media for bad actors as well as keeping our Facebook and Instagram site fresh and lively.
- Mazon Project: We are always in need of help cooking a Sunday dinner for unhoused people.
- Brotherhood and Sisterhood: These two groups work to build community and provide service to TBE.
- Tree of Life Leaf Process: We are in need of members to help manage the “Tree of Life” memorial plaque. This fun job helps members celebrate a loved one by adding a leaf to our Tree of Life memorial.
- Greeters: If you are not shy, we need greeters to come early to services and other events to make everyone feel welcomed and at home.
- Kitchen helpers: From Passover to potlucks to the Purim Carnival, we always need help in the kitchen.
- The membership committee needs more members to help make sure all of us are connected and engaged.
- Kaddish call: Every Friday we provide an opportunity to say kaddish on a brief (20 minute) Zoom. As our Rabbis are often stretched, we are looking for volunteers who we could train to assist with this sacred duty.
- Chavurot: We are looking for someone who would like to help members who want to join a chavurah form a new one or connect with an existing one.
- TBE Choir: The choir performs at High Holidays and a few other special services during the year. If you are able to read music and do choral singing, we’d love to have you join this special group!
- Audio/Visual—Technology: Now that (almost) everything is hybrid we have ever increasing needs for tech savvy folks who can help up with this new aspect of temple life.
Most require no experience; just a desire to help the Temple and a willingness to learn. Please consider volunteering your time to our community.
