2:00 PM - 4:30 PMJoin us for a cemetery work day at Home of Peace cemetery. There are many tasks that we are hoping to accomplish to clean up our cemetery and honor our loved ones. We hope to do lots of trimming, raking, weeding, and some headstone cleaning. If you took a brush or spray bottle at the last headstone cleaning event could you please bring them with you?
Please bring:
-
Rakes!!!!
-
Weed whackers
-
Clippers both hand held and long and handled
- Wheelbarrows
- Weeding tools
- Shovels
- Trash bags
- You probably want to bring a pair of gardening gloves
- Empty gallon containers or buckets to carry water. We only have one water outlet at the front of the cemetery.
- Clean empty spray bottles.
- A medium soft scrub brush if you already have one. Hard bristle brushes or scrubbing pads will damage the stones, especially the old ones.
This should be a nice warm day, but it can be cool in the shade so maybe dress in layers and wear sun protection. Please bring your own drinking water. We are not going to provide food or snacks, so please plan accordingly. This should be a fun mitzvah and a needed one to show our respect to the ones who helped build our thriving Jewish community.
